East Rock Community Magnet School seeks to ensure that all children have the opportunity to succeed academically while striving to reach their fullest potential as independent thinkers. We are committed to creating learning experiences that will assist our students in achieving their greatest potential while adapting to a diverse school community and an ever changing world.
School Vision:East Rock Community Magnet School will achieve success through continued collaboration among the school, community, parents and learners in order to develop students who are productive and responsible members of society. Guided by the Comer Process we stress the total development of each child: morally, intellectually, socially, emotionally and physically.

Our Magnet
Our magnet theme allows our students to become familiar with the cultural, geographical and political diversity that exists in the world today. Students will take charge of their educational experiences as they incorporate community-based problem solving to promote a better understanding of and respect for different people and cultures of the world.Our magnet theme is skillfully executed through project-based learning, case studies, field experiences and school-wide thematic and interdisciplinary units of study. Teachers are committed to creating learning experiences that integrate creative use of technology and promote student engagement.
